Yellow Teeth?

I go to the dentist on a regular basis, and my teeth are clean. However, my teeth are always several shades more yellow than average. How can I get my teeth more white? Does crest white stripes work? and how often do I have to apply to notice change?

Yellow Teeth?
Crest whitestrips are fine and they do not eat away at your teeth like hessr says...you can also get bleaching trays made by your dentist but it is pretty pricey. We charge $300 for the bleaching trays and the bleaching solution at my office. The crest strips are a bit cheaper but work slightly slower than the bleaching at the dentist. Your teeth may become sensitive when you bleach, if this occurs start using sensodyne toothpaste.
Reply:The strips work fine. You apply them once daily for as many days as the package says to use them. Just buy a box and follow the directions.
Reply:the white stripes eat away at the yellowness but will eventually eat away very very little at a time at ur teeth also

best way get that crest whitening toothpaste and brush the three times a day ull have bit noticibaly different results after just one week

Reply:White strips do work, but you really do have to follow the instructions on the box (i.e. twice a day for two weeks) if you really want good results.

Hydrogen Peroxide also bleaches teeth as well. Gargle before brushing.
Reply:Yes, Crest White Strips do work. Just follow the instructions. Don%26#039;t brush before, use 2x day for 30 minutes each. Also, avoid liquids such as coffee, tea, soda, wine for at least an hour after each strip. That%26#039;s advice only a hygienist can give you! :o)

Tip to keep the stains away...drink soda from a straw, that way it bypasses your teeth.

Hope this helps!
Reply:I advice you to go to the dentist and do bleaching ,dont waste your money with other things as their effects are not evident, but you should repete bleaching every 3-6 months depending on your drinks.
Reply:the stripes i have heard will clean only a part leaving white in some spots and yellow everywhere else.

i honestly use the crest whitening pre brush rinse, and my electric tooth brush. my teeth are very white. but i have always had white teeth. i would suggest to lay off of drinks like coffee and soda if you drink them because not only are they harmful to your health, but they terribly stain your teeth. i notice eben though my teeth are white, when i drink soda or coffee, they turn yellow. so i try and not consume those types of fluids.

i have heard the perioxide and bakingsoda work, and maybe this is a possibility for you, but i would just suggest be careful, and maybe even research it before you try it. and do not ingest any of the chemicals, becuase im pretty sure they would be harmful to your heath.

good luck bro hopefully one of these work for you.
Reply:Because you can start to get some sensitivity from the over the counter bleaches your best bet would be to have your dentist make you a tray - its simply done by taking an impression of your mouth - and a tray that fits your mouth only is made up. It is made so that the bleach material will only cover the teeth and not ooze up to the gums. This is very important because the bleach is strong and may cause sensitivity when eating/drinking . I usually recommend using a toothpaste for sensitive teeth for a few weeks prior to bleaching. We check the color of the teeth before starting and after - what a difference! The bleaching material you receive from your dentist is stronger than over the counter types. Its a little investment to have the tray made up but you can always use it = bleaching usually lasts 6-12 months, depending on your diet ie colas/tea/coffee are the worst offenders. Some times theres a little rebound on down the road but for most you only have to bleach once or twice a year. The tray lasts for years and your only cost is the bleach itself.
